凤阳山位于浙江省龙泉市东南50公里处，面积23亩，境内海拔1929米的最高峰黄茅尖，被誉为“江浙第一高峰”。1975年7月被列为省级自然保护区；1992年10月，被国务院列为凤阳山一百山祖国家级自然保护区。 凤阳山处于夏雨的热带－暖温带(海洋性)群落交错区内，地质古老，气候湿润，雨量充沛，植物资源极为丰富，保存了大批原始古老的生物种群，是我国的主要模式标本主地之一。现已知的种子植物有1978种，蕨类植物219种，苔鲜植物365种，大型森林真菌428种。其中白豆杉、华东黄杉、长柄双花木、穗花杉等20余种被列入《中国珍稀濒危保护植物名录》，占浙江省保护植物品种的50%。 凤阳山野生动物最多，有脊椎动物292种，昆虫910种。兽类有金钱豹、云豹、大灵猫、小灵猫、短猕猴、稣门羚等；鸟类有黄腹角雉、赤腹鹰等，属于国家级保护动物的有66种，其中一级保护动物9种。 素有“清凉天地”“天然公园”之美誉的凤阳山，峰巍树怪，谷幽泉清，茂林蔽日，奇草遍地，百余处旅游风景点，一年四季景随季变，平均气温12.5℃，极端最高气温只在30.2度。
