性质:能够被受体菌所吸收,并通过交换、整合和复制使受体菌获得部分新的遗传性状的DNA片段。转化因子一般应具备的条件是:纯度高、分子量大、同源性强。质粒形式的共价闭合环状DNA,多数线状双链DNA以及少数线状单链DNA都可在特定条件下用于转化,如某些细菌的线状DNA转化因子的合适分子量为1×107道尔顿左右,即占染色体DNA的0.3%左右,在其上约含15个基因。
