河北雾灵山国家级自然保护区
位于河北省兴隆县北部,面积14337公顷,1983年经河北省人民政府批准建立,1988年晋升为国家级,主要保护对象为温带森林生态系和猕猴。
本区地处燕山山脉,最高海拔2116米。清代,视雾灵山为清东陵的风水禁地,严禁砍伐树木,以致林木繁茂,形成了郁闭的天然林。且森林植被随海拔高度发生变化,形成垂直带,具有华北植物区系的代表性,是研究森林植被变化的“天然实验室”,因而为中外学者所重视。保护区内还分布有猕猴、斑羚等珍稀野生动物,并为我国猕猴分布的北限。
