检查下丘脑-垂体功能的一种方法。输入精氨酸后刺激血浆生长激素水平增高。方法：病人禁食，于上午8时在lOOml液体中加入精氨酸30g静脉滴注30分钟，在输入前(0）与输完后2小时分次抽血测生长激素。结果：正常人血浆生长激素峰值多高于10ng／ml。垂体侏儒刺激原血中生长激素无明显升高，常低于5ng／ ml。
