| 乌鳢 Ophiocephalus argus；argus snakchcad fish 鲈形目鳢科乌鳢属的一种。又名黑鱼、乌鱼、乌棒、蛇头鱼、文鱼、才鱼。体呈圆筒状，尾部侧扁。吻尖；头背面平扁，被有鳞片。口大，端位，下颌稍突出。上下颌，犁骨和腭骨均具尖锐的细齿。背鳍、臀鳍基部均很长，可伸达尾鳍基部；胸鳍圆形；腹鳍较小；尾鳍圆形。体呈灰黑色，体及头的背部暗黑色，腹部色较浅；体侧有许多不规则的黑色花斑，头侧有2纵行黑色条纹；背鳍、臀鳍和尾鳍均具有黑白相间的花纹，胸鳍基部有一黑斑。分布于中国东部辽河水系到海南省及云南西南部，图们江及鸭绿江无，沿黄河达关中；朝鲜西、南部亦产。为底栖凶猛肉食性鱼类。喜栖息于水草丛生的缓浅水区。平时游泳缓慢。鳃上腔具辅助呼吸器官，水体缺氧时能在水面进行呼吸，故离水后还能生活相当长时间。冬季到深水处于淤泥中越冬。乌鳢最大体长可达700毫米，肉质鲜美，经济价值较高。
