The Resources Survey and Population Monitoring of Amphibian in Hupingshan National Nature Reserve Hunan Province;

The advance for six pine caterpillars on the identification, synthesis and EAG responses of female sex pheromones, bioassay of synthetic female sex pheromones and the application technique for deploying and population monitoring in pine forests is reviewed.

The present paper gives an overview of the application of sex pheromone in the control of the rice stem borer, Chilo suppressalis (Walker), including population monitoring, mass trapping, mating disruption, influencing factors and assessing the effectiveness of control.

The researches on predacious clerids,important natural enemies of scolytids,including biolo-gical characters,predation on scolytids,rearing techniques & artificial diets,monitor of population dynamics,chemical ecology of clerids and coevolution relationship among plants,scolytids and clerids were reviewed and prospects for the application of clerids were described.
