| 菊科(Asteraceae,Compositae) 双子叶植物，隶属菊目(Asterales)。1000属，25000-30000种，分布于全世界，主要产温带地区。中国230属，2300多种，分布全国各地。常划分为13个族，其中有舌状头状花序的菊苣族(Lactuceae,Cichorieae)单独成为菊苣亚科(舌状花亚科Cichorioideae)，其余12个族则组成菊亚科Asteroideae(管状花亚科Carduoideae)。 多为草本，少数为灌木，极少为乔木。常含有果聚糖的碳水化合物以及多种生物碱。单叶，全缘，有锯齿或多裂，有时为复叶，互生，少对生或轮生。气孔器无规则型，有时为不等细胞型。头状花序盘状或辐射状，或为短穗状花序。花两性或单性，极少雌雄异株。雄蕊4-5枚，花丝着生于花冠管且与花冠裂片互生。子房下位，基生胎座。胚乳细胞型或核型。瘦果，有或无冠毛。种子无胚乳。染色体x=8-29。 常见的庭园赏植物有菊花(Dendranthemamorifolium)、大丽菊(Dahlia pinnata)及万寿菊(Tagetes erecta)。药用有红花(Carthamus tictorius)和除虫菊(Pyrethrum cinerarifolium)。从除虫菊提取的除虫菊脂是一种良好的天然杀虫剂。油料有向日葵(Helianthus annuus)，种子油供食用及制肥皂、油漆的原料，油饼和青贮茎叶为家畜饲料。食用蔬菜有莴苣(Lactuca sativa)、生菜(Lactuca sativa var.romana)和茼蒿(Chrysanthemum spatiosum)等。曾一度作为橡胶资源研究的银胶菊(Parthenium argentatum)和橡胶草(Taraxacum koksaghyz)，其中橡胶草的根含橡胶6-28%，中国新疆、甘肃等地有栽培。豚草属(Ambrosia)、蒲公英属(Taraxacum)和飞廉属(Carduus)等中有许多常见杂草，其中豚草(A.artemissiifolia)的花粉会引起人类枯草热。 |
