【来源】
为西番莲科植物杯叶西番莲的全草或根。
【植物形态】
杯叶西番莲 缠绕草质藤本。卷须着生于叶腋。单叶互生，燕尾状杯形两裂，裂片长三角形，长5～10厘米，宽5～8厘米，两裂片之间有1小尖头，主脉5；叶柄近基部具2腺体。聚伞花序腋生；花梗有毛；萼裂片5，卵状长椭圆形，外面几无毛；花瓣5，与萼同形；副花冠由许多丝状裂片组成；雄蕊5；子房卵形，花柱3。浆果球形；种子有假种皮。 生于山间河谷石缝、路旁。分布云南、贵州、广西、四川等地。
【采集】
夏、秋季采，洗净，晒干。
【性味】
《贵州草药》："性温，味甜微涩。"
【功用主治】
①《贵州草药》："解毒，止血，熄风，镇痛。治疔疮，刀斧伤出血，痧气腹胀窟，血尿，白浊，半身不遂。" ②《云南中草药》："养心安神，除湿活络。治风湿性心脏病。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～5钱；或泡洒服。外用：捣敷。
