植物形态：常绿多年生草本，高10~30厘米。全体密被白色茸毛，茎丛生，细硬，节间短。叶对生或3枚轮生，密集，狭披针形，长0.5~2厘米，宽0.1~0.2厘米，基部楔形，先端短尖，全缘，无柄。花淡红色，单生叶腋，苞片2枚，花萼4裂，钟状，花冠唇形，5裂，雄蕊4枚，2强，子房上位，2室。蒴果，长圆形，先端尖锐，具纵沟。 生态分布：产我国长江流域以南各省，多生长于山坡林边、灌丛下及荒山草地。 药用分布：全草入药，夏、秋、冬季均可采收。 用途：性味微苦、淡平，无毒。能凉血，止血。用量：5钱~2两。
