【性状】
本品为白色结晶性粉末；有类似蒜的臭气，味酸；有引湿性。 本品在水或乙醇中易溶。 熔点 本品的熔点（附录Ⅵ C）为101～107 ℃。
【鉴别】
(1) 取本品约0.1g，加10％氢氧化钠溶液2ml溶解后，加醋酸铅试液1 ml，加热煮沸，溶液渐显黄褐色，继而产生黑色沉淀。 (2) 取本品约10mg，加氢氧化钠试液1ml溶解后，加亚硝基铁氰化钠试液数滴，摇 匀，即显深红色；放置后渐显黄色，上层留有红色环，振摇后又变成红色。 (3)本品的红外光吸收图谱应与对照的图谱（光谱集7图）一致。
【检查】
酸度 取本品1.0g，加水20ml溶解后，依法测定（附录Ⅵ H），pH值应 为1.5 ～2.5。 溶液的澄清度 取本品1.0g，加水10ml溶解后，溶液应澄清。 干燥失重 取本品，置五氧化二磷干燥器内，减压干燥24小时，减失重量不得过 3.0％（附录Ⅷ L）。 炽灼残渣 取本品1.0g，依法检查（附录Ⅷ N），遗留残渣不得过0.1 ％。 重金属 取炽灼残渣项下遗留的残渣，依法检查（附录Ⅷ H第二法），含重金属不 得过百万分之十。
【含量测定】
取本品约0.3g，精密称定，加水30ml溶解后，在20～25℃用碘滴定 液(0.1mol/L)迅速滴定至溶液显微黄色，并在30秒钟内不褪。每1ml碘滴定液(0.1mol/L) 相当于16.32mg的C5H9NO3S。
【类别】
粘痰溶解药。

密封，在凉暗处保存。
