性质:一类组成结构中含有一个或一个以上金属离子的蛋白酶,凡能抑制此类蛋白酶又不使酶蛋白变性的物质,都属于金属蛋白酶抑制剂。如,由田无链霉菌MD706-Y4产生的磷酰胺素(phosphoramidon),由马组链霉菌产生的塔罗肽(talopeptin)等都是金属蛋白酶抑制剂。
