【植物形态】
野凤仙花 多年生草本，高约60厘米。根部发达，肉质，根茎状，或成圆形、椭圆形的块根。茎肉质，节处膨大，分枝，绿色带紫红色，有毛。叶互生，卵形、卵状椭圆形或椭圆状披针形，长6～16厘米，先端尖，基部圆形，下延，边缘有圆齿状锯齿，齿与齿间有极细的线形裂片。总状花序，腋生；花梗基部有1斜卵形苞片；萼片3，中间1片居下，囊状，特大，向后延生成弯距，黄色，两侧者小，绿色；花瓣5，黄色，上端1瓣直立，每侧之2瓣愈合为1；雄蕊5，花丝白色，花药愈合包围雌蕊之顶；雌蕊1，子房长圆柱形，5室。蒴果，角果状，长纺锤形。花期6～7月。 生于山林、水洼及流水边潮湿处。分布我国东北以至西南各地。 本植物的块根(霸王七)亦供药用，另详专条。
