莲花山山峰险奇峻秀，松柏杨桦混生，人文景观荟萃， 是省级自然风景保护区，距康乐县城以南58公里，坐落于甘肃南部的康乐、临潭、卓尼、渭源、临洮五县交界处，主峰海拔3578米，呈鳞形断层，群峰耸立，形似莲瓣，中顶平圆，状如连蕊，酷似初绽莲花，俊丽骄妍，故名莲花山 。古代黄帝时，道教名仙广成子常来此山。明朝初期为道教、佛教名山。从唐坊滩至峰顶，小道崎岖通往莲花宝殿，十八罗汉楼、头天门、二天门、三天门、四天门、紫宵宫、娘娘殿、舍身殿、独木桥、鹞子翻身、金顶、打儿窝、祖师殿、夹人巷、蛇倒退、玉皇阁等近百处景点。山腰有停车场及商店，旅馆等服务设施，每年农历六月初一至初六，这里是盛大的莲花山“花儿会”的主会场。
