在无外磁场时当T=Tc时的正常-超导相变是二级相变。按BCS理论，晶体中电子由正常电子到库珀电子对的转变中（或可逆过程）也体现出电子比热的陡变，是谓相变电子比热的BCS陡变，由如下理论结果表示：

式中cs和cn分别是超导态和正常态的电子比热。上式比值是一个常数，多数纯金属超导体与实验结果相当符合。
