The reasons causing various types of blowhole defects in the chilled layer of the chilled cast iron camshaft were analyzed based on the blowhole defect locations,defect morphologies and dimensions,and relevant proper countermeasures were proposed.

In this paper, according to principles of error back-propagation (BP) neural network, combined with three dimensional parametric modeling based on Object ARX technology, an intelligent CAD software system for step gating system of cast-ironed camshaft was developed, based on AutoCAD environment.
