For increasing continuous casting efficiency,practising reasonable matching between steelmaking furnace and continuous casting machine,promoting development of hot charging and hot feeding processes in metallurgical enterprises of Shandong province,the high efficiency reform of continuous casting machine needs to do at speed.

By means of reconstructing the secondary cooling system of continuous caster and optimizing technology,the accurate and applicable mathematic model of solidification and heat transfer for billet in high efficient continuous casting process was established.

In addition,the demands of secondary cooling system in high efficiency continuous casting for the performance of spray nozzles are also evaluated and the concept of effective spray coefficient is given out.

This paper has made a survey of the situation of high efficiency continuous casting technology(HECCT),and described HECCT from the viewpoint of technique integration.
