物种特征:描述:体大(68厘米)而尾短。雄鸟绯红,上体多有带黑色外缘的白色小圆点,下体带灰白色椭圆形点斑。头黑,眼后有金色条纹,脸部裸皮蓝色,具可膨胀的喉垂及肉质角。与红胸角雉区别在于下体灰白色点斑较大且不带黑色外缘。雌鸟较小,具棕色杂斑,下体有大块白色点斑。 虹膜-褐色;嘴-黑,嘴尖粉红;脚-粉色至红色。声音:雄鸟发出似婴儿啼哭的wu, wa…, ga, ga或nyear-ni声来维护巢域。雌鸟繁殖季节发出wa, wa 叫声,告警时叫声似鸭叫的quack-quack-quack。 分布范围:喜马拉雅山脉东部,缅甸北部和(越南的)东京西北,至中国中部。 分布状况:广泛分布的地方性常见鸟,见于西藏东南部、云南西部及北部、四川、甘肃南部、陕西南部、贵州、湖北、湖南及广西北部海拔 2000~3900米(冬季下至1000米)。 习性:单个或家族栖于亚高山林的林下。不惧生。夜栖枝头。雄鸟炫耀时膨胀喉垂并竖起蓝色肉质角,喉垂完全膨起时有蓝红色图案。
