形态特征:寥科大黄属多年生矮草本植物。无茎;花葶多数，高10-15厘米，比叶短。叶基生，菱形，长15-20厘米，宽10-15厘米，革质，顶端稍尖，基部宽楔形，上面无毛，下面密生小突起，具5-7条基出脉;基出脉突出;叶柄粗壮。7月开花，花序为穗状的总状花序; 花密集; 花被片紫红色，长1.5-2毫米;雄蕊6-7，与花被片近等长，瘦果连翅近圆形，长9-10毫米，宽13-15毫米，宽大于长，顶端微凹，基部心形。
生境分布:生于海拔4700-5400米的山坡草地、山顶草甸。分布于西藏。
