The asymmetric squaric amides 6a～6l,7a～7c and asymmetric isosquarylium amides 3a～3s were smoothly prepared by the reaction of mono carbamoyl amide of squaric acid (MCASQA, 1) with primary arylamines and (N aliphatic) n butyl nitroxosquarate 4 with urea or its derivatives under the moderate condition.

Fourteen new asymmetric substituted isosqurarylium amides were successfully obtained by the reaction of 3 - [ ortho - (or para - ) carboxy anilino] - 4 - hydroxy - 3 - cyclo - butenedione with some sulfanilamides.
