开边乡
开边，据《镇原县志》记载 ：“宋时设有开边岩，开边者，开拓边疆也”，故此得名。
开边乡位于镇原县西部，距县城20公里，地形较为复杂，山、川、原兼有。辖11个行政村，21285人。土地面积149平方公里，耕地7.36万亩，其中川地1.07万亩。
该乡水利资源较丰富。茹河自西向东横穿贯全境，两岸建有东风渠，解放渠；有机井18眼，大口井11眼，提灌站40处，塘坝6处。水渠萦回，衔接成网，可灌溉万亩粮田。
农业主产小麦、玉米、高梁、糜谷、豆类、荞麦等，经济作物有胡麻、油菜、烤烟、大麻、蔡花、茴香等。近年不来，全面推推行科技兴农战略，发展粮经型，果业型带田规模种植，高产高效，富民富乡。
