补充资料：赵恒惕(1880～1971)
1920～1926年湖南军政首领。字夷午、彝五，号炎午。湖南衡山人。1880年1月11日(清光绪五年十一月三十)生。湖北方言学堂毕业后,赴日本留学,入东京振武学校及陆军士官学校第六期炮科。1905年加入同盟会。1909年回国,随蔡锷主办广西陆军小学堂,历任广西常备军协统、广西督练公所会办等职。辛亥革命爆发后，率新军拥广西巡抚沈秉瀍宣布独立。旋率部北上,驰援武汉,任左翼军司令,驻孝感,与南下之清军对峙。民国成立后任第十六旅旅长，返湘协助湖南都督谭延闿整编军队。二次革命起，任总指挥率师攻鄂，旋被袁世凯派遣入湘之汤芗铭俘获，押解入京判刑十年。1915年因袁世凯欲称帝，颁赦令，经蔡锷等具保,获释出狱。次年袁死,赵回湖南, 任湘军第一师师长，嗣后代督军。1920年11月被广州军政府任命为湘军总司令,后又任省长。赵倡议联省自治，创制省宪，名为自治，实与直系军阀吴佩孚联结甚紧。1921年 4月通电反对孙中山任非常大总统，次年春反对北伐军入湘作战；1923年前后，镇压农民，破坏农会,压制民众运动,为湖南各阶层人民所反对，于1926年 3月被迫去职，退居上海。抗日战争爆发后任军事委员会军事参议官，1939年 8月任湖南省临时参议会议长。抗战胜利后为省参议会主席。1949年去香港，后去台湾，1951年在台湾为"总统府资政"。1971年11月23日在台北病逝。
