| 产地及产期: 分布于印度洋和北太平洋西部。我国南海、东海和黄海均产，以南海区产量较多。喜栖于岩礁和岛屿附近，多分散活动。定栖性，移动范围不大。以鱼虾为食。栖息在外海的个体较大。 | |
| 介绍: 体长圆形，侧扁。一般体长15～25厘米，体重150～400克。从头盖骨起，背部显著隆起，背面狭窄呈锐棱状，腹面平坦。背鳍一个，连续，有12～13棘，中间有一浅缺刻。臀鳍有三棘。尾鳍截形，略圆。口小，端位、唇厚、下颌腹面有三对小孔。侧线完全，位高与背缘平行，全体被细小栉鳞，侧线鳞下方鳞较大于上侧，胸鳍基部有腋鳞。体上部灰褐色，下部较淡。体侧有黑色宽带三条，斜形。背鳍、背侧及尾鳍上有黑色圆点。在第二条斜带上方，背鳍和臀鳍上均散布许多大小不一的黑色圆点，特别是尾鳍上圆点较密集，状似散落的黑胡椒。故得名、胸鳍、臀鳍、尾鳍边缘近黑色。 |
