性质:无色、无臭、无味、无毒、不可燃的单原子气体,化学惰性。相对密度ds(21.1℃,空气=1)0.696。气体密度0.83536kg/m3(21.1℃,101.3kPa);液体密度1207kg/m3(-246.0℃)。沸点-246.0℃。熔点-248.7℃。在低电压时比其他气体更易离子化,通电则会产生极其明亮的红色光。其制法是将来自大型空分装置的氖氦混合气,在液氮温度下经活性炭吸附除氮,可得到高于99.9%的氖氦混合气,经氖氦分离,粗氖产品经脱氢,低温吸附除氮,液化除氦,即可获得99.99%的纯氖产品。氖用于充填辉光放电管,电子管、信号灯、荧光发射管、计数管、气体激光器、闸流管;特种应用的色谱载气。液氖可作为制冷剂,泡室中核粒子检测。
