性质:周期系0族元素(稀有气体)。原子序数10。同位素:20,21,22。原子量20.1797。无色、无臭、无味气体。100升空气中含氖1.82毫升。密度0.900。熔点-248.67℃。沸点-245.90℃。十分不活泼,不能燃烧,也不助燃。在照明技术中,作为填充气体用于制造霓虹灯、水银灯和钠蒸气灯,和氩混合使用能产生美丽的蓝色光。大量氖用于高能物理研究、深海潜水或宇航中的呼吸混合器。液态氖可作冷冻剂(达25-40开)。由空气分离塔中在制氧气、氮气的同时提取氖氦的混合气体,再用活性炭选择性吸附法或在液氢温度下氖部分冷凝的方法使氖与氨分开而得氖。
