美国现代舞演员、编导和教师。1900年生于德国沃尔姆斯。原名乔安娜·孔兹。早年就学于E.雅克-达尔克罗兹办的舞蹈学院。1921年在M.维格曼创建的舞蹈学院担任教师,并在其舞蹈团中任演员和导演。1931年在纽约开设维格曼舞蹈学校分校。1936年该分校改名为汉雅·霍尔姆工作室,同时组建了自己的舞蹈团,并开始形成她自己的现代舞风格。她创作的著名作品有《潮流》(1937)、《都会生活》(1938)等。这些作品具有强烈的社会批评倾向。1936～1944年她曾率领舞蹈团在欧美巡回演出。1941年她在科罗拉多州创办了西部舞蹈中心，每年夏季开设舞蹈课。1967年她关闭了自己的工作室。霍尔姆为百老汇音乐剧创作的舞蹈取得了很大的成功，其中包括《吻我，凯蒂》(1948)、《我的美人儿》(1956)、《凯米罗》(1960)等。她在舞台布景、音乐伴奏方面也都有所创新，并广泛使用了拉班记谱法（见舞蹈记录法）。
