《纲目》："苦，寒，无毒。"
【归经】
《得配本草》："入足厥阴经。"
【功用主治】
①《嘉祐本草》："主一切风，化涎。治肝藏风，筋脉抽掣，及急风口噤，或四肢不收，顽痹，或毒风周身如虫行，或破伤风口眼偏斜，腰脊强硬。" ②《纲目》："煨热，绵裹塞耳，治风热聋闭。"
【用法与用量】
内服：多入丸、散。
【宜忌】
《得配本草》："血虚气滞，二者禁用。"
【选方】
①治破伤风，口眼偏斜，四肢拘急，腰背强硬：槐胶二两，白花蛇二两(酒浸，去皮骨，炙令微黄)，独活一两，白附子一两(炮裂)，防风一两(去芦头)，干蝎半两(微炒)，干姜半两(炮裂)，天南量半两(炮裂)，天麻一两，麝香一分(细研)。上药，捣细罗为散，入麝香研令匀。每服，研薄荷汁半合，入酒三合，暖令温，调下一钱，不计时候服。(《圣惠方》槐胶散) ②治破伤风，身体拘急，口噤，眼亦不开：辟宫子一条(一名守宫，酒浸三日，曝干，捣罗为末)，赋粉半分。上药，同研令匀，以煮槐胶和丸如绿豆大。不计时候，拗口开，以温酒灌下七丸，逡巡汗出瘥，未汗再服。(《圣惠方》辟宫子丸)
