称量体积或质量较大的物体的衡器。最大称量分别为2、3、5t。地上衡按结构和功能分为机械式和电子式两类。
机械式地上衡(图1 )的原理与机械式地中衡相似。它装有秤轮，可在地面上移动使用。承重台和台框等用型钢焊接制成，具有足够的强度和抗冲击能力。它可称量各类物资，包括铸锭、钢带卷等金属材料。
电子式地上衡由称重传感器、承重台和称重显示器组成（图2）。可以放置在坚实地面上进行称量，也可安放在浅基坑上或在其两侧加装带有一定坡度的引道，供手推车称重使用。
