    多花筋骨草系唇形科筋骨草属常绿多年生草本。茎4棱,具匍匐茎和直立茎,茎节有气生根。叶对生,边缘具粗锯齿,先端钝圆,基部楔形,叶片纸质,长椭圆形,叶面有皱褶裙,生长季节绿中带紫,入秋后叶片紫红色。花蓝紫色,轮伞花序,长年零星开放,较集中开放时间为4至5月和10至12月,株高25至30厘米。原产美国。
    多花筋骨草性喜半阴和湿润气候,在酸性、中性土壤中生长良好,耐涝、耐旱、耐阴也耐暴晒,抗逆性强,长势强健。多花筋骨草可采用分株或扦插繁殖。
    分株一般在生长旺季的5至6月或10月进行。将母株挖出分为4至5株,在疏松土壤中做畦栽植,每亩栽2万株。加强肥水管理,上半年移栽下半年即可出圃。10月份分株,冬季可用小拱棚保暖,使小苗加快生长,至翌年4至5月可出圃。
    扦插一年四季均可进行,因节处易生不定根,扦插成活率可达95%。选择疏松的扦插基质,插穗带2个节,6至8厘米长,上留2片叶。一星期后即可生根,30天后可移植圃地。
    多花筋骨草病害少,扦插时如湿度太大或栽植过密,相互拥挤易发生腐烂,可用多菌灵或护苗神800倍液喷洒或淋浇。
    多花筋骨草可成片栽于林下、湿地,达到黄土不露天的效果。2002年杭州西湖南线绿化改造工程中大量引用该品种,取得很好的效果。(来源:中国花卉报2003-01-07)
