分子式C11H8O2，分子量172.2。又称甲萘醌，亮黄色晶体，有特殊的刺激性气味。熔点105～107℃。不溶于水，溶于乙醇、氯仿、苯、四氯化碳和植物油等。遇光或铁质分解变质，是防治缺乏凝血酶原症的特效药，主要作用是促进血液凝固。可由β-甲基萘在冰醋酸中用铬酐氧化成甲萘醌，然后与亚硫酸氢钠生成加成物使用。
