性质描述: 白色针状或小片状结晶。熔点52℃,沸点284℃,140-150℃(1.73kPa),闪点129℃,相对密度0.9782(25/4℃)。易溶于氯仿;醚;二硫化碳和乙酸戊酯,溶于醇,几乎不溶于水。与三氧化铬或高锰酸作用生成苯甲酸。

生产方法: 由氯化苄与金属钠作用而得。氯化苄与金属钠在160-180℃反应4h,即得联苄。另一种方法是由氯化苄在铜存在下反应,或由安息香在镍存在氢化而得。

用途: 用于有机合成,硝化纤维素的溶剂。
