三江自然保护区位于黑龙江省抚远县和同江市境内，总面积198089公顷，其中核心区5.6万公顷，保护区于1994年经黑龙江省人民政府批准建立，是一个以沼泽湿地为主要保护对象地自然保护区。
保护区地处黑龙江与乌苏里江汇流的三角地带，属低冲积平原沼泽湿地，为三江平原东端受人为干扰最小的湿地生态系统的典型代表，也是全球少见的淡沼泽湿地之一。区内泡沼遍布，河流纵横，自然植被以沼泽化草甸为主，并间有岛状森林分布，均保持着原始自然状态。保护区内动植物资源丰富，共有脊椎动物291种，其中国家一级保护的野生动物有白鹳、丹顶鹤，白尾海雕等9种，国家二级保护的野生动物有大天鹅、白枕鹤、雷鸟、水獭、猞猁等32种；有高等植物近500种，其中野大豆、黄菠萝、水曲柳被列为国家二级保护野生植物。
