《自君之出矣》是乐府诗杂曲歌辞名。赋得是一种诗体。张九龄摘取古人成句作为诗题，故题首冠以“赋得”二字。
首句“自君之出矣”，即拈用成句。良人离家远行而未归，表明了一个时间概念。良人离家有多久呢？诗中没有说，只写了“不复理残机”一句，发人深思：首先，织机残破，久不修理，表明良人离家已很久，女主人长时间没有上机织布了；其次，如果说，人去楼空给人以空虚寂寥的感受。那么，君出机残也同样使人感到景象残旧衰飒，气氛落寞冷清；再次，机上布织来织去，始终未完成，它仿佛在诉说，女主人心神不定，无心织布，内心极其不平静。以上，是对事情起因的概括介绍，接着，诗人便用比兴手法描绘她心灵深处的活动：“思君如满月，夜夜减清辉。”古诗十九首中，以“相去日已远，衣带日已缓”
