| 汤 中国商王朝的建立者 。原为商族部落领袖。传说名履，又称成汤、武汤、武王、天乙。殷墟甲骨文称成或唐，亦称大乙。西周甲骨与金文称成唐。商族从始祖契到汤，曾先后迁居八次，至汤定居于亳。汤初置二相，以伊尹、仲虺共同辅助国事，又陆续灭掉邻近的葛国（今河南宁陵）以及夏的联盟韦（在今河南滑县）、顾（在今河南范县）、昆吾（在今河南许昌）等部落、方国，成为当时的强国。后作《汤誓》伐夏。汤与桀大战于鸣条（今河南封丘东），桀大败而逃。此后三千诸侯大会，汤被推为天子。三让，诸侯不从，于是汤即天子之位，建立商王朝。汤建国后，鉴于夏代灭亡的经验教训又作《汤诰》。对那些亡了国的夏民，则仍保留夏社，并封其后人。汤注意“以宽治民”，因此在他统治期间，政权较为稳定，国力也日益强盛。13年后，汤卒。
