| 辛普朗隧道 Simplom Railway Tunnel 世界最长的山岭铁路隧道。瑞士通往意大利的铁路穿越阿尔卑斯山的两座单线隧道。一号长19.803千米，中间设会让站，建于1898～1906年。二号长19.323千米，建于1912～1922年。两座隧道中线相距约20米，一号隧道用下导坑法施工，并沿二号隧道的中线开挖平行导坑（隧道修建中首次使用平导）作为辅助坑道，后将平行导坑扩大建成二号隧道。隧道穿过的地层为片麻岩、石灰岩、片岩和石膏等地层。施工时遭遇极大的困难，曾发生岩爆，造成人员伤亡；洞内岩层压力较大，压毁了最大的木支撑，压弯了钢梁；地下气温高达53℃，只得喷洒冷水使岩面冷却；大量的地下水涌进洞内，每分钟曾达60吨，以致多次停工而延长了工期。 |
