The color center models and their corresponding absorption spectra have been proposed according to the experimental results of the lattice structures and the electronic structures around the lead vacancy.

The results obtained by optical absorption spectra showed that many F-type absorption centers were produced in MgAl_2O_4 spinels by electron irradiation,and the spectroscopic properties of MgAl_2O_4 spinels were influenced by irradiation dose of electron.

There is a broad optical_absorption band at 370 nm, which is due to V_type color centers absorption in MgAl 2O 4 ceramics after irradiation.
