By means of column chromatographic techniques, 8-oxocaffeine, together with pyrimidine alkaloids (deoxythymidine, thymine and uracil), flavonoidal glycoside (engeletin) and simple phenols (1, 2, 4-benzenetriol, 1, 3-benzenediol and 4-methyl-1, 2-benzenediol) were isolated for the first time from Pu-Er ripe tea.

【来源】
为山茶科植物普洱茶的叶。
【植物形态】
普洱茶 常绿灌木或小乔木,高约3米。小枝灰色,幼时被柔毛。叶互生,椭圆形、卵圆状椭圆形或矩圆状椭圆形,长7~16厘米,宽2.8~5.5厘米,先端渐尖,基部楔形,具细锯齿,上面无毛,下面无毛或幼时被短柔毛;叶柄长4~10毫米。花单生于叶腋;萼片5,无毛;花瓣7~9,倒卵状矩圆形,白色,长约2厘米;雄蕊多数;子房上位,圆球形,密被柔毛,3~5室,花柱3裂,无毛。蒴果扁圆形,黑褐色,直径3~4厘米。种子近圆形,褐色,直径约15毫米。 分布云南。
【性味】
苦涩,寒。 ①《纲目拾遗》:"苦涩。" ②《本草再新》:"味甘苦,性寒,无毒。"
【归经】
《本草再新》:"入肝、胃二经。"
【功用主治】
消肉食,逐风痰,泄热,解毒,生津,止渴。治痧气腹痛,干霍乱,痢疾。 ①《本经逢原》:"消食,辟瘴,止痢。" ②《纲目拾遗》:"解油腻牛羊毒,逐痰下气,刮肠通泄。"又:"普洱茶膏,醒酒……消食化痰,清胃生津,功力尤大。" ③《本草再新》:"治肝胆之浮热,泻肺胃之虚火,生津止渴。" ④《随息居饮食谱》:"善吐风痰,消肉食,凡暑秽痧气腹痛、干霍乱、痢疾等证初起,饮之辄愈。"
【用法与用量】
内服:煎汤,1~2钱。
【宜忌】
《纲目拾遗》:"虚人禁用。"
【选方】
治闷瘄:茄梗(伏月采,风干),房中焚之;内用普洱茶二钱,煎服,少顷尽出。(《百草镜》)
