为姜科植物阳春砂Amomum villosum Lour.的果实。
【植物形态】
多年生常绿草本，高达1.5m。地上茎直立，无分枝。叶排为2列，无柄；叶片窄长圆形或条状披针形，长14～40cm，宽2～5cm，全缘，羽状平行脉；叶鞘抱茎。穗状花序成疏松的球形，具花8～12朵；花萼筒状，先端3浅裂，花冠管细长，先端3裂，白色/蒴果椭圆形，成熟时红棕色，有肉刺。种子多数，芳香。花期3～6月，果期6～9月。生于山谷林下阴湿地。主产广东、广西、云南、四川、福建有分布。
【采集】
7～8月间果实成熟时采收，低温烘干。临用时取种子捣碎；果皮亦入药。
【化学成分】
种子含淡黄色挥发油，油中含乙酸龙脑酯、樟脑、樟烯、柠檬烯、B-蒎烯、苦橙油醇等；另含黄酮类成分。
【性味】
性温，味辛。
【功用主治】
化湿开胃，温脾止泻，理气安胎。用于脾胃虚寒、食积不消、呕吐泄泻、妊娠恶阻、胎动不安。
