      民主德国的一所家畜营养研究机构,以动物营养学家O.克尔纳的名字命名。1852年由E.沃尔夫创办,原设默肯。O.克尔纳为第三任所长。1953年迁址罗斯托克后改为现名。设有供猪、牛和绵羊用的呼吸室。主攻方向为应用间接测热,研究家畜的能量代谢和饲料的能值评定。该所研究人员于1900年总结了27种饲料在 2个级差饲养水平的氮、碳平衡差,得出体蛋白和体脂肪的沉积量,进而推算出近 300种饲料的淀粉等价值,并拟订了后被欧洲各地大量应用的家畜能量需求的计算方法。后又在以体脂沉积为基本指标的基础上,改淀粉等价为净能饲料单位,进一步完善了家畜能量需求的计算。
