八硅墓营在甘肃民乐县东南15公里处。东为山丹霍城古址，西为背背山，簸箕凹山，乱疙瘩山等5个丘陵，布满古墓。沿山脚为土穴墓，少数为子母砖室墓和埋葬儿童的瓮棺葬。墓室平面呈长方形,券顶，单室。出土彩绘木器有车，塔，案，陶器有罐，耳杯，鼎，铜器有弩机，箭头，长矛，弓箭等兵器及五铢钱。墓多为汉代官兵，相传是霍去病屯兵之地。墓地西北有紫英城和古代屯兵的营盘遗址。地处祁连雪山北篱，经险隘可通过青海，古代为一军事要地。相传从山头城堡入洞口，前行数十里有洞口可出，当时是古代地道；曾发现甲胄武士遗体，犹倚长矛。
