为蔷薇科植物太平莓的全草。
【植物形态】
太平莓 常绿矮小灌木,高40~40厘米。分枝无毛,有时分枝及叶柄散生极小皮刺。单叶互生,革质,卵状心形或心形,长8~15厘米,宽4.5~12厘米,先端锐尖或渐尖,边缘具锐尖细锯齿,下面疏生灰色绒毛,基生5出脉,下面网脉显明;叶柄长4~8厘米;托叶缺刻状条裂。花白色,径1.5~2厘米,3~6朵成总状花序或单生于叶腋;总花梗密生茸毛;萼钵状,5裂,先端尾尖,两面密生茸毛;花瓣5,广圆形或广卵形,略长于萼。聚合果球形,径1.2~1.5厘米,红色,花期6~7月。果期8~9月。 生于山坡灌丛和路边草坡。分布湖北、安徽、浙江,江西、广东等地。
【功用主治】
治妇人产后腹痛,发热:太平莓干燥全草半斤,加甘草五至六钱。水煎,冲红糖、黄酒,早晚饭前各服一次。
