Optimization for CFRP pultrusion process based on genetic algorithm-neural network

In this study the theory of heat transfer and curing reaction kinetics on the pultrusion die are analyzed and studied and then,a mathematical model accounted for heat transfer and curing reaction kinetics is established for carbon fiber sucker rods.

The curing kinetics of the vinyl ester resin used in pultrusion process was studied by non-isothermal DSC test, and the apparent activation energy(ΔE) and the reaction order(n) of the curing reaction were calculated by using the Kissinger and Crane equation.

Two methods for determining the cure system and its proportion for pultrusion process were introduced in this paper.
