性质:经防水剂处理后具有防水性能的革称为防水革,处理后可防止亲水的皮革遇水变硬、发霉。防水革分为疏水的和不透水的。疏水革不一定不透水,不透水革也不一定疏水。疏水革是利用疏水材料(有机硅羟乳或硅酮等)浸渍皮革,遇水时使革纤维降低表面张力,加大与水的接触角,使水在革面形成水珠滚落,不能润湿和扩散入革内。可做到既防水又不影响革的透水气性,多用于绒面革的表面处理。不透水革是将防水剂在皮革加油时一起加入革内,皮革遇水时,在革纤维的间隙会形成一种油包水的黏性乳液,阻止水继续渗入,防止水从革的一面透到另一面。这种防水处理可用于猎人靴等防水革制品。
