confined groundwater 
    充满两个隔水层之间的含水层中的地下水。承压水由于顶部有隔水层,它的补给区小于分布区,动态变化不大,不容易受污染。它承受静水压力。在适宜的地形条件下,当钻孔打到含水层时,水便喷出地表,形成自喷水流,故又称自流水。人们利用这种自流水作为供水水源和农田灌溉。在中国,承压水的发现和利用始于距今2000多年。汉朝初,中国四川省开始打自流井取卤水生产食盐,井深可达100多丈。
   承压含水构造主要有自流盆地和自流斜地两类。含有一个或多个承压含水层的构造盆地称自流盆地。自流盆地有3个组成部分:补给区、承压区和排泄区。补给区在盆地边缘位置较高的地区。由于上面没有隔水层,水不具有承压性质,实际上这里的地下水是潜水。位置较低的边缘为排泄区,这里往往有泉水出露。承压含水层之上有隔水层覆盖的区段为承压区。斜含水层在下端因构造变动或岩性变化而使水流受阻,便构成自流斜地。
