Poly(aryl ether sulfone ether ketone ketone) with side carboxyl(PESEKK-A) attached to the main chain was synthesized by Friedel-Crafts polycondensation of 4,4′-diphenyoxyl diphenyl sulfone(DPODPS) with trimellitic anhydride chloride(TMAC).

Poly aromatic ether ketone ketone ether ketone ketone containing side carboxyl group((PEKKEKK-A)) was synthesized from trimellitic anhydride acid chloride(TAAC) and 1,4-bis(4-phenoxybenzoyl) benzene(p-EKKE) by low temperature solution polycondensation of 1,2-dichloroethane(DCE),N-methy-2-pyrrolidone(NMP) and anhydrous aluminum chloride(AlCl_3).
