5-(chromon-3-ylmethylidene)meldrum's acid are synthesized by Knoevenagel condensation of substituted-3-formylchromone and Meldrum's acid under the solid state condition of heating without organic solvent and catalyst,the yield was 70%~87%,the products were indentified by 1H NMR and IR.
