无规聚丙烯是生产等规聚丙烯的副产物,平均分子量3000-10000。有时可高达几万。室温下为天定形微带粘性的白色蜡状固体,相对密度0.86,软化点90-150 ℃,闪点220-230 ℃.燃点300-330 ℃,玻璃化温度>-25℃,脆化温度-6~-15℃,拉伸强度 <0.784 MPa, 200 ℃开始分解。溶于烷烃、芳烃和酯类等有机溶剂,不溶乙醇、丙酮和水。由于分子量小,结构不规整、内聚力低,故机械性能和耐热性较差。
