无规聚丙烯是生产等规聚丙烯的副产物，平均分子量3000-10000。有时可高达几万。室温下为天定形微带粘性的白色蜡状固体，相对密度0．86，软化点90-150 ℃，闪点220-230 ℃．燃点300-330 ℃，玻璃化温度＞-25℃，脆化温度-6～-15℃，拉伸强度 ＜0.784 MPa, 200 ℃开始分解。溶于烷烃、芳烃和酯类等有机溶剂，不溶乙醇、丙酮和水。由于分子量小，结构不规整、内聚力低，故机械性能和耐热性较差。
用于制取热熔胶、压敏胶、铺路胶粘剂等。储存于阴凉、通风的库房内，防火、防热。
