化学式 (BN)n。有石墨型和金刚石型两种结构。石墨型的片层结构巨分子为柔软、白色晶状粉末,俗称白石墨。相对密度2.25,约3000℃升华,微溶于水,与水煮沸时缓慢水解成硼酸。石墨型氮化硼的化学性质极不活泼,能耐2000℃高温,有良好的介电性能。它可由氮与硼加热制得,也可由硼酰亚胺B2(NH)3加热裂解或由硼酸与磷酸钙等在氨气中加热制得。石墨型氮化硼可做绝缘材料、耐火材料、坩埚和高温润滑剂。石墨型氮化硼在1800℃、 85000大气压下转变为金刚石型立方晶体巨分子,称为氮化硼单晶,硬度仅次于金刚石。金刚石型氮化硼可作高温磨料和抛光剂。氮化硼纤维具有强度高、弹性模量高、重量轻、热稳定、热导率高等优点。
