Anticipation is growing over the arrival of the newest member of the British royal family as Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly due to give birth at the end of April or in early May.

Besides guesses as to the baby's sex, speculation over the new heir's name has reached a fever pitch.

The royal family tends to name their children after their ancestors as a sign their respect. Dianna and Victoria are the current favorites if the child is a princess and Arthur and Edward are the favorites if it is to be a prince, according to the odds on offer in the British gambling market.

The Baby Sussex will become the seventh in line to throne.

Traditionally, the first people to be informed about a royal birth are the reigning monarch, the prime minister, and the governor general of each Commonwealth nation along with the rest of the royal family and the parent's relatives. The public will be informed via a notice placed on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace in London.
