SANAA, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Battles between Shiite Houthi rebels and the Salafist group in Yemen's northern province of Saada rage on despite government efforts to end the violence.

Analysts say the politically motivated clashes in Saada, though under a sectarian guise, are aimed at securing advantages for some local factions and their regional supporters before the conclusion of a national dialogue conference.  Full story

20 killed, 100 wounded in sectarian conflicts in northern Yemen

SANAA, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Conflicts between Shiite Houthi rebels and Sunnis in Yemen's northern regions erupted on Wednesday, leaving 20 people killed and more than 100 wounded, a security source told Xinhua.

Conflicts erupted in the Salafi-controlled northern town of Dammaj after Houthi rebels launched attacks against the Salafis in the town on Wednesday morning, the source said anonymously.  Full story
